The Lift supports carriers that are designed for 2in hitch receivers. When combined with our hitch adapter it will also support all carriers designed for a 1 1/4in hitch receiver. The Lift will also support all attachments that are designed to work with the roof rails of a vehicle. The Roof Rack attachment is specifically designed to be used only with The Lift to mount roof rail attachments, cross bars and all items that are transported on the roof of a vehicle.

The model 200 can lift up to 200lbs including the weight of the attachment being used.

The model 400 can lift up to 400lbs including the weight of the attachment(s) being used.

Example 1: 5 bikes weighing 30lbs each total 150lbs plus the weight of the carrier of 50lbs give a total weight lifting of 200lbs.

Example 2: If your purchase the model 400 and a Double Trolley you can utilize two separate attachments with The Lift.  Assume you are using a bike rack for the top Trolley and a cargo rack for the bottom Trolley.  The bike rack weighs 60lbs and the Cargo Rack weighs 60lbs.  Now you have 400lbs – 120lbs of the attachments = 280lbs of gear you can lift between the two.

IMPORTANT: It is important to note that each Trolley is designed to lift 300lbs maximum.  So, in order to lift 400lbs you will need to purchase and use the Double Trolley so the weight can be distributed between the two Trolleys and the associated attachment. Each Trolley can lift up to 300lbs separately but the model 400 can lift up to 400lbs total between two Trolleys.

The Lift will stop when either the trolley hits a safety pin, the top of the channel or the items being raised hit the ceiling. Operators should watch closely when raising and lowering The Lift to ensure it stops before impacting the ceiling.

You can use all of the storage solution attachments on your vehicle except for the Roof Rack. The Roof Rack is designed only to be used with The Lift to secure and lift items you transport – mimicking the roof rails of your vehicle, not replacing them. All other attachments can be used on your vehicle as long as they are secured properly.

It is important to load items onto the attachments and carriers as close to the wall as possible. The Lift can hold and lift up to 200lbs, however the amount it can lift can be degraded if the load is too far away from the wall. All of the Top Shelf attachments are designed to support the load with the center of the weight at 24in from the wall or closer.

No. The Roof Rack is only designed to be used with The Lift. It is not designed to be used for transportation of any items on the road or on your vehicle.
